Katie has served as pastor at Woodside Road United Methodist Church’s since July 2015. Prior to her appointment at WRUMC Katie spent two years chasing her children (Tiernan born in 2010 and Evelyn born in 2013) full time. She has also served churches in Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, and the Southern California high desert. Katie and her husband Daniel were married in 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Walnut Creek, CA where Katie grew up. Daniel’s father, a retired United Methodist minister, officiated their wedding. It turns out that being a United Methodist, but more importantly following Jesus, is a family affair.

Katie believes that local congregations are schools for learning how to follow Jesus. Both on our church campus and in the world beyond the walls of the local church, we practice offering radical hospitality, being in ministry with our neighbors, and serving in ways that offer the possibility of transformed lives and communities. None of this is work we can do by ourselves, but empowered by the Holy Spirit, anything is possible.

You’re likely to find Katie spending a fair bit of her time chasing her children at a local park (tell her your favorite, she’d love to meet you there). When she’s not running after Tiernan and Evelyn she’s likely to be reading a mystery novel (although she’s branched into some science fiction), volunteering with the kids’ school, scouts, or 4H or enjoying the tomatoes that Daniel grows in their backyard.
