Join WRUMC following worship on November 2nd for a taco luncheon! We’ll gather in Watters Hall at 11:30 to share a community meal.
All Saints Sunday is November 2nd. In worship we will remember the saints who have joined the great cloud of witnesses. You are invited to bring photos of loved ones to share. We will also have a time of lighting candles to remember our loved ones and the saints who changed our lives.
November 9th is “Just Pancakes”! Join WRUMC for pancakes at 11:30am following worship.
Advent Begins on November 30th
We will journey to the thin places in our Christmas story beginning with worship on November 30th. “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus” — both the hymn by Charles Wesley and the book by Andy Langford and Ann Langford Duncan will be our travel guide (in addition to Hebrew Bible and New Testament prophets), Mary and Joseph, and the angels (among others).
On Sunday evenings in Advent we will gather again at 6pm for a time of reflection and study.
Sierra Service Project Sunday will be September 7th in worship. Join us for songs and stories from the youth service learning trip to San Diego. Fellowship time after worship will feature yam bread.
Sunday Morning Choir Rehearsals Return on September 14th. Come join in the music making and worship leadership! Rehearsals will begin at 9:30am!
Worship at Red Morton Park! We’ll join with other local churches to share in worship on Sunday, September 21st. Note: this worship service will begin at 10am. A potluck lunch will follow.
Save the dates — the Mid-Peninsula CROP Walk is Sunday, October 26th in Menlo Park! We are volunteering again at Redwood Family House on Wednesday, October 22nd. We’ll be sharing food and crafts again alongside ministry partner Epiphany in San Carlos.
Crop Walk Jam Sales will start in September for October delivery. Varieties will include (among others): apple pear, plum raspberry, apricot, and lemon marmalade. Look for the sign up list in next week’s email!
Interfaith National Day of Prayer — Saturday, October 11th! Join organizations from across the county in San Mateo County’s Behavioral Health and Recovery’s day of prayer at Woodside Road UMC. Woodside Road UMC will be hosting this event from 1:30 to 3:30pm!
Join Woodside Road UMC for worship on April 20th @ 10:30am as we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. Together we will sing Alleluia and live into the ways that God transforms death into new life and violence into mercy and peace.
Fellowship time will follow.
On Thursday, April 17 @ 6:30pm we will host worship in our small chapel (it’s behind the sanctuary) to remember Jesus’ final meal with his disciples, his friends. We will remember the commandment Jesus gave his disciples, “I give you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, so you also must love each other. This is how everyone will know that you are my disciples, when you love each other.” (John 13:34-35)
We will also celebrate holy communion and have time for quiet prayer and reflection.
